Tithing at New Baltimore
Ultimately, God does not care about money, He owns it all. So why does He command us to tithe (give 10% of our income) and promise to bless us if we do? (Malachi 3:10-12) If every american Christian gave God their tithes, all the needs of every church would be met. All american missionaries would be supported and there would be enough leftover to feed all the hungry in all the world. God commands tithing because He cares about people. In the New Testament, Jesus takes us further and shows us to live simply and joyfully by giving even more away.
When we follow God in the tithe, the world is blessed and we are blessed too. We learn to trust God, live below our means, and see that there is something more important in life than our own pleasures and possessions (the needs of others, salvation, and growth). Jesus promised that we are laying up treasures for ourselves in Heaven that will never wear away. (Matthew 6:19-34)
At NBCC you’ll soon learn that we’re not after your money. Our staff live on modest salaries. Our building is nice, but basic. For every dollar received, we give 10% away to missionaries to keep our focus outward. We want to be a blessing to you and our world.
If you are at a point in your faith where giving is part of your gratitude and trust in God, then know that your offerings are helping change lives.
For your convenience, we offer online giving…just click the donate button above and log in/sign up.
If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering. If you consider New Baltimore Community Church your home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider obeying God with your tithes and offerings. We do ask that you fill out one of our yellow visitor cards and drop it in the offering and you just might get some cookies!
